Musicians

Injury and musculoskeletal conditions are common in musicians, often due to the physical demands of playing an instrument.

Specific movement patterns, the repetitive nature and postures required may leave the musician at risk of muscle imbalance and overuse conditions. Physiotherapy can help address underlying deficits in strength, flexibility and motor control.

You will be asked about your practice schedule, any changes in repertoire, instrument or technique and current warm up/exercise regimes.

Where possible you will be asked to bring your instrument(s) to the appointment for postural and/or functional assessment.  Photographs may be taken to assist with ergonomic markers.
